Jon Jones Spotted And Shouted Out Travis Barker In The Crowd Just Moments After Winning The UFC Light Heavyweight Championship

While it’s well-known that I haven’t been Jon Jones’ biggest supporter, I do have to shout out my favorite thing he did on Saturday night.

Just moments after TKOing Alexander Gustafsson in the third round of their battle for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, Jones hopped on top of the cage in celebration, and who was the first person he spotted?

Noted UFC fan and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who he immediately showed a little respect towards, air-drumming it up for him.

Now I’m not just blogging this to show, I guess, that it was a “worlds-colliding” moment for me, but because I believe this is a pretty unique indicator of how good Jones actually is. Hear me out – I’m not saying his air-drumming and fighting ability are related in any way, shape, or form, but the fact that Jones was showing this level of tranquility after (fairly easily) taking out the biggest threat 205 has to offer, barring Daniel Cormier, is pretty telling in terms of him just being on another level from everybody else we’ve ever seen. He barely even broke a sweat, hopped on top of the cage, and his mind went to, “Hey look! Travis Barker!”

He’d already moved on from the beatdown he just laid down!

Love him or hate him, he’s the best to ever do it, and as much as I haaaaate to say this, it’s probably that way with or without the steroids…even though he’s popped more times than I’ve jerked off in my entire life…and that’s a lotta times.

After the fight, the GOAT actually met with Travis, a GOAT in his own right, and snagged this pic:
